DJoid Changed How We Prep our DJ Sets

As a DJ who's been playing for over 10 years across multiple genres, along the way I have collected thousands of tracks. I started on Serato, then switched to Rekordbox like most working DJs. But no matter which platform I used, one thing never changed: managing my library was a drag. Tagging, sorting, scrubbing through tracks one by one.

So when I heard about Djoid, I was cautiously excited. A tool that promised to make library management easy and playful? I wanted to try it immediately. And, after spending time with it, I can say this: Djoid makes me want to revisit old tracks, explore my collection, and engage with my music in a way that feels intuitive and genuinely fun.

In this article, I will be sharing my experience with Djoid, highlighting my favorite aspects of the platform as well as some suggestions that would make it even better.

Graph Playlists & Track Previews

Graph Playlists is an entirely new workflow for playlist creation. Instead of scrolling through a linear list, you see your tracks arranged visually and get smart suggestions based on track compatibility. The graph view is one of my favourite features. I can simply hover over a track and instantly hear a meaningful preview. Djoid intelligently jumps to a section that is useful for evaluating the track, making it much easier to find compatible music quickly.

I am also a very visual DJ and often remember tracks by their artwork rather than their titles. Seeing album art integrated throughout the graph makes navigating large collections feel far more natural.

Scatter Map

The Scatter Map lets you see the entire music you have uploaded to Djoid in one view, with similar tracks close together and outliers on the fringes. This is where Djoid really stands out for me.

If I want to record a mix but do not have hours to spend building playlists, I can quickly define a BPM range, key, and energy level, draw around a group of tracks, and export a playlist in seconds.

Modern DJs are balancing gig prep, content creation, radio shows, and mix submissions. Scatter Map removes a huge amount of preparation time and lets me focus on the performance, recording, and sharing side of DJing.

Filters & Chapter Builder

Chapter Builder helps you design DJ sets by organizing music into experiential chapters: hypnotic, trippy, emotional.

The filtering tools are excellent for shaping a set. Being able to filter by BPM and energy makes it easy to build chapters and control the flow of a mix.

The Chapter Builder is particularly well executed. Instead of creating separate playlists for different sections of a set, I can see the entire journey on one screen. It feels much closer to how DJs actually think about structuring a performance.

Auto-Group ( or Auto Crates)

Auto Group is another major time saver. Automatically grouping tracks is useful enough on its own, but the visual indicators showing where drops and breakdowns occur make crate building and set preparation even faster.

My suggestions on future improvements:

• Genre analysis and filtering – particularly useful when building opening sets or targeting a specific sound. I recently wanted to create an opening set under 115 BPM and a genre filter would have made that process much easier.

• Music theory guidance – educational support around the key wheel, harmonic mixing, and key selection would help newer DJs understand how tracks work together without leaving the platform.

• Transition auditioning – being able to hear how two tracks work together at specific mix points, either manually selected or AI assisted, would be a genuinely game changing feature.

Final Thoughts

Djoid definitely makes music discovery and set preparation enjoyable for me. Rather than feeling like I am managing a database of tracks, it feels like I am exploring and engaging with my music collection. That is a big difference, and it is what makes the platform so compelling.

I actually look forward to curating my music now, because library management no longer feels like a wall of tedious tasks. For a working DJ, time is always short, but saving time only matters if the quality of your sets stays the same or gets better. With Djoid, I prep faster and my track selection does not suffer. If anything, I find better connections because I am not rushing.

Djoid has not changed my taste or my style. It has just made it easier to actually use the music I have spent ten years collecting, and to do it in less time. That, for me, is the point.
